Range of polyethylene bunded spill flooring

This is a high quality modular polyethylene bunded flooring system with collection sumps that can be joined together to construct your custom spill floor. The core item is a floor sump unit (BF4) 1660mm x 1260mm, alongside it's smaller cousin at 1260mm x 860mm (BF2).

These floor sump units are just 150mm high offering a good low deck height and an easy step up for a person. This low height modular system enables any space to be transformed into a safe workspace, work station or storage area. The individual sumps can have threaded connectors drilled in the side walls to join the sump capacities to form larger capacities enabling multiple barrels and IBC's to be stored within current UK regulations.

Constructed from polyethylene these flooring systems are suitable for the storage and handling of various acids, alkaline solutions, oils and non-flammable chemical substances in conformity to European Standards.

The vertical sides of the sumps allow them to butt up to each other. A steel joining strip then sits on top, straddling the 2 sides and connecting them. This strip also prevents any leaks or fluid spills from falling between the sumps and hence uncontained.

The BF4 floor sump has a sump fuid capacity of 300 litres. By drilling through the side walls, the sumps can be joined with threaded connectors increasing the overall capacity of the sump floor. This then allows larger capacities to be stored. For example, 4 x BF4 sump floors give a total capacity of 1200 litres which surpasses the requirement for the storage of 1000 litre IBCs.

Please Note, as standard, these sump floors are supplied undrilled. Once laid out in position, you will have to drill the holes yourselves, simple enough though through the polythene side walls. The exception to this are the 2 kits which have pre-drilled holes. Please see below for details. Any questions, please contact us.

We have 2 basic kits available which have everything included to assemble 4 x BF4 flooring sump units. Kit 1 connects the sumps in a square(ish) shape of 3320mm x 2520mm, and Kit 2 in a long straight configuration of 5040mm x 1660mm. The kits have all the parts needed and the holes for the connecting threaded connections are factory pre-drilled.

The final piece of the puzzle are ramps to allow easy access of sack barrows or drum holders, usually for drums. Both ramps are made for this specific application with the correct height, but they differ in length. Ramp BFR has a length of 650mm x width of 800mm. Ramp BFR2 is wider and a much shallower slope with a length of 1740mm x 1000mm wide. Your choice between space and gradient really.

The sump floors can be configured in many different ways to suit your application. The kits have been designed to make it simple for the purchase of a 4 piece standard sump floor.
